Hello everyone from S Africa

I left the USA on 3 rd Nov from JFK on a 15 hour flight to Johannesburg for a trip to S Africa with my daughter.
We arrived on 4th Nov for our 2 night stay in Johannesburg.
The first day we visited the city of Johannesburg and of course an ultra modern mall called Santon and there is also Nelson Mandela Square.
The next day we went on a tour of Soweto the black township where Nelson Mandela lived before he was arrested to spend 27 years in jail. We vistesd the aparteid museum and sore the atrocities that happened to the children in Soweto.
That evening Courtney and I went out to a great bar and night club and had a local host who took as to a great nightclub and partied the night away.
The next day we were heading to Krueger National Park where we were going on 3 safaris--------- so excited to see the wildlife.

Good night

Hello From Alaska

I'm in Anchorage as I was invited to a Cultural gathering of all the Native tribes in Alaska and Canada. The main reason was for the Tribes to vote on political issues and establish their rights as Natives but also to share their music, dance, and traditions.

So for the last 3 days I have been enjoying learning about the Natives and enjoying Alaskan food. The food is wonderful and so is the local beer lol

It is cold up here, no snow yet, but for me living in AZ I had to wrap up warm

I wanted to actually go outside of the city but all tours stop in late September and I waa told the best time was to come back in May. There is so much to see here.

So its back to the local bars and restaurants for some great food and the local hospitality.

Keep warm

Gayle

Hi Everyone from Tel Avib, Israel

I am so excited today 12 ocr to be going on a tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
I am going with a small group by bus to Jerusalem which is approx 1 hour from Tel Aviv for a 3 1/2 hour walking tour.
We covered the old town both the Jewish and Christian Quarters visting many historical places the Wailling Wall and the different sections where the various events occured before during and after the crucification of Jesus.
After lunch we then got back on the bus to head to Bethlehem which is only 15/20mins away from Jerusalem.
This was such a city of conteadictions. When we arrived the first thing you see is a huge wall which surrounds the city. So our tour guide dropped us at the security gate where our passports were checked and we followed a path that was enclosed by a fence to across the border where we were met by our Palestinian guide. We then toured the Nativity Church where Jesus was born..
The experience just makes one realise how lucky we are to be able to travel in the USA from one city to another no matter what our religion is. There the Palestinians' the people that lived in Bethlehem, have to have legal papers to come and go, if they are granted that priveledge.
Oh by the way I received 4 marriage proposals one I was offered 1000 camels another 100 camels! Guess which one I accepted?

Hi Everyone

Now that I am leaving cold rainy Prague at 11pm on Oct 10th for Tel Aviv Israel I am ready to get back to some warm weather.
I arrived on tel Aviv at 5am on 11th oct checked into the hotel and slept and worked and slept!
Early evening I took a walk along the beachfront and it was so beautiful with restaurants along the beack with lights in the sand and at points along the beach were workout areas with equipment. Tel Avivs equivalent of Venice Beach!
After I ate at a great restaurant on the beach made friends with my waiter I was ready for bed again. I am still not on the right time zone.
Tomorrow 12th I am on a tour of Jerusalem and Betlehem so very exvited.
Talk to you tomorrow
Be safe Gayle

Good Morning to everyone from sunny England, yes I said sunny.

I decided to start this blog because I travel so much and thought it might be fun for you to follow me on my travels.

I arrived here on 4th and the weekend prior the weather had been in the 90's now its maybe 70's but for this time of year that's unusually high. Netherless contrary to popular belief it is not always raining here. It is a 4 season country and a bit like the Midwest you can get all seasons in one day.

When I come to London I stay at the same hotel The London Regency in Kensington and its like home away from home. I've been staying here for at least the last 7 years and the staff are great

Right now I am on the train to Norwich, which is about 2 hours NE of London, to visit my Mum and Stepdad.

Its funny when I come back I am reminded of some of the local vocalbury which I have forgotten over the years see if you know what the following means:-

Boot

Motorway

Petrol

Hood

Shattered

And here's some naughty ones:-

Snogg

Wank

Willy

I will give you the answers in another blog but you can email me and whoever gets them right I will send an 8 x 10 photo.

Well its cherrio for today and will catch up with you all in Prague on Monday 10th Oct.

Love Gayle
